About Me

I am an Advanced Diabetes Dietitian in Oxford with over 12 years’ experience working with people with Type 1 Diabetes. My clinical practice focuses on supporting individuals living with Type 1 Diabetes lead active lives, and to optimise glycaemic management, performance, and wellbeing. I established the award-winning Oxford Specialist MDT Sports Clinic for adults and children with Type 1 Diabetes in 2016.

I serve as Chair of EXTOD (EXercise and Type 1 Diabetes), a national non-profit collaborative network of experts dedicated to educating healthcare professionals and people living with T1D.   I am proud to lead this group of expert doctors, dietitians, nurses, exercise physiologists, researchers and people exercising with T1D, all working to improve and share understanding about T1D and exercise.

We deliver
-national conferences for healthcare professionals,
-education programmes for people with diabetes,
-evidence-based resources and policies for national sporting bodies to support safe and confident exercise in Type 1 Diabetes
-research projects

I am regularly invited to speak about exercise and T1D at national and international events, sharing my expertise in the area with people with diabetes and those healthcare professional teams providing their care.  I love sharing knowledge and understanding about this topic and have also published research and articles with the underlying passion to improve the lives of those living with T1D.  I am a co-author of the 2026 International Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Diabetes Guidelines for Exercise management in youth with T1D.

I undertake regular clinical supervision with experts in exercise and diabetes, and maintain my knowledge and skills through ongoing continuing professional development.
